Fort Faroth is one of the most critical locations to visit in Elden Ring, offering powerful treasures that can reshape your character's progression early in the journey. Nestled within the dangerous region of Caelid, this ancient fortress contains crucial key items required to access late-game areas. Knowing the safest route and what rewards await inside will help Tarnished players prepare for the perilous journey ahead.

How to Reach Fort Faroth

To reach Fort Faroth, players must travel east into the hazardous Dragonbarrow sub-region of Caelid. From the Summonwater Village in Limgrave, you can take a waypoint portal behind the church to transport directly to the Bestial Sanctum. From there, ride south on Torrent past Greyoll's Dragonbarrow, keeping distance from major bosses until you reach the Fort Faroth Site of Grace.

Alternatively, players can ride directly through eastern Caelid by following the main road north through Sellia. Navigating around the dangerous wildlife requires careful riding, as high-level enemies can easily defeat unprepared travelers. Activating the nearby Site of Grace outside the fort provides a safe respawn point before venturing inside.

Obtaining the Dectus Medallion Right Half

The primary reason most players venture to Fort Faroth is to collect the Dectus Medallion (Right). This key item, when combined with its left counterpart from Fort Haight, allows activated passage on the Grand Lift of Dectus. Utilizing this lift grants direct access to the Altus Plateau without fighting through difficult boss encounters.

The medallion piece is located at the top of the central tower inside the fort. Players can sprint past the ghostly harpies and bats inhabiting the main hall to reach the ladder quickly. Clambering up to the chest allows you to claim the medallion without engaging in lengthy combat.

Finding Radagon's Soreseal

Beyond the medallion, Fort Faroth houses one of the strongest early-game talismans in Elden Ring, known as Radagon's Soreseal. This powerful item raises Vigour, Endurance, Strength, and Dexterity by five points each, significantly boosting attribute stats. However, it also increases damage taken, requiring players to balance the extra offense with careful defense.

To find the talisman, drop down from the wooden roof scaffolding into the hidden inner wall sections. Navigate past the giant rats and drop into a secluded lower ledge near the far wall. The talisman rests on a corpse at the end of the lower passageway.

Rune Farming Near Fort Faroth

The exterior of Fort Faroth is famous for hosting Elder Dragon Greyoll, a massive resting dragon surrounded by smaller dragon allies. Defeating Greyoll yields a massive sum of runes early in the game, making it a popular farming location for new characters. Using a weapon with the Bleed status effect allows players to deplete the dragon's massive health bar efficiently.

It is best to strike Greyoll's tail from behind near the Site of Grace to stay safe from nearby dragon guards. Once defeated, players receive tens of thousands of runes along with Dragon Hearts for incantation crafting. Returning to the nearby grace allows players to level up instantly and prepare for future adventures across the Lands Between.
